Cobra 2D

Cobra™ 2D is a non-contact measuring instrument for quickly scanning any part or surface to produce a high resolution, linear profile. Interchangeable DRS™ (Digital Range Sensor) sensors let you choose the resolution you need for every part you need to scan.

Cobra 2D measurement precision comes from field proven DRS laser technology offering Z-height resolution to 0.125 µm. Computer-controlled translation of the DRS (Digital Range Sensor) across a surface generates a profile in the Scan-X® analysis software. The portable Cobra can be set on a large part, or placed on a bench where small parts are placed beneath the DRS. Setup is simple - adjust a micrometer to move the DRS into its capture range, clearly shown as a green bar in Scan-X.

Since nothing touches the part but low intensity laser light, Cobra is perfect for scanning fragile, sensitive and malleable surfaces which might be damaged by a diamond stylus. The optional video camera makes setup even easier, and provides live color imaging of the scanning process.
